Description: Provides free civil legal services to poor, elderly and disabled clients throughout Los Angeles County by offering litigation services, utilizing direct representation by BTLS staff and volunteers, and community outreach and education support through publications and media communications. Pro Bono Opportunities: BTLS maintains and relies upon a strong pro bono program in which staff attorneys co-counsel with volunteer attorneys in cases on individual representation as well as impact cases. BTLS also depends upon a corps of volunteers who are not attorneys, including paralegals and others who conduct intake and provide clerical support.
