Organization Description:
Bet Tzedek provides free legal assistance to thousands of people who would otherwise be denied access to the legal system underpinning our democracy by providing assistance to all eligible needy residents of Los Angeles County, regardless of their racial, religious or ethnic background.
Bet Tzedek provides free civil legal services to poor, elderly and disabled clients throughout Los Angeles County by offering litigation services, utilizing direct representation by staff and volunteers and community outreach and education support through publications and media communications.
Pro Bono Project Description:
Bet Tzedek maintains and relies upon a strong pro bono program in which staff attorneys co-counsel with volunteer attorneys in cases on individual representation as well as impact cases. Bet Tzalso depends upon a corps of volunteers who are not attorneys, including paralegals and others who conduct intake and provide clerical support.
