This practice area serves lawyers in Monroe County, NY and the NY Finger Lakes counties of Livingston, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne and Yates and is hosted by Volunteer Legal Services Project (VLSP). This website provides an array of resources for attorneys who handle pro bono cases, as well as information about pro bono opportunities through VLSP and the Finger Lakes Volunteer Lawyer Service.

If you are currently on the VLSP or FLVLS panel and have handled a case or worked in one of the VLSP or FLVLS clinics in recent years, you will be approved to join the site as a prerequisite for your service.
If you are not currently a VLSP or FLVLS volunteer, you do not need to take a case now in order to join. However, we do expect those whom we authorize for access to register for VLSP or the Finger Lakes Volunteer Lawyer Service and to accept a case as soon as possible. Please click here to print out the VLSP registration form and return it to VLSP after you have completed it. After you receive your probono.net authorization, you will be able to access all of the resources available in this site. We will contact you about signing up for a case or a clinic.
VLSP
Volunteer Legal Services Project of Monroe County, Inc. (VLSP) is a program that provides free legal help to low-income residents of Monroe County, NY facing non-criminal legal problems. VLSP's services are provided by private attorneys who donate their time and talent to ensure that low-income people have access to the justice system when faced with serious legal problems.

FLVLS
The Finger Lakes Volunteer Lawyer Service (FLVLS) coordinates the efforts of private attorneys providing pro bono services in five rural counties in Western New York: Livingston, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne and Yates. Current program priorities include matrimonial actions when there are allegations of spouse abuse or child abuse, a broad variety of consumer matters, real property issues, wills and estate probates. Support and technical assistance to attorneys participating in the program is provided by staff attorney Elizabeth Hendy.

LAS
Legal Aid Society of Rochester, NY, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization that provides direct civil legal services, including lay advocacy and related human services, to adults and children. We ensure that those who seek justice have an opportunity to receive a fair and full hearing. We obtain legal solutions that have a beneficial impact on our clients and the community.
The Legal Aid Society (LAS) provides direct legal representation to individuals and families. The service areas of the Civil Division are Family Law, Domestic Violence, Housing Law and Immigration Law. The service areas of the Juvenile Justice Division includes Youth Advocacy/Education Law and a Law Guardian Unit.
