This free 5-hour CLE program is for attorneys who now have or are considering representing a capital client in habeas proceedings. Nationally-recognized death penalty & habeas corpus experts will review recent Supreme Court decisions, discuss the implications of the Supreme Court decision in Baze v. Rees & consider ethical issues in post-conviction claims. There will be a luncheon keynote address by David Baugh on the sanctity of the Constitution in capital cases & habeas claims. There will also be 2 simultaneous sessions on habeas corpus -- 1 for attorneys new to habeas work & 1 for more experienced attorneys.
