Increasingly, households are behind in rent payments and need assistance to pay rent arrears. This session discusses eligibility for grants that assist with rent arrears. Known as "one shot deals" or "emergency grants", the workshop will focus on who can receive these grants and how to obtain them, how an emergency is defined, when recoupment or repayment applies, how often one can receive these grants, and how to obtain an "exception to policy" for rent arrears. In addition this training will address the various immediate needs grants, and special allowances.

Note: Knowledge of basic Cash Assistance is required. Cost of workshop is $40.00. Online registration required at: http://events.SignUp4.com/winter2010
