New York State Foreclosure Laws, Defenses, and Settlement Options
Thursday April 22 2010
Hosted by Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP
1633 Broadway, New York NY 10019

Learn about the foreclosure process, the laws that govern it, including the new state law requiring mandatory conferences for certain types of mortgages. The session will review some of the statutory and common law defenses and counterclaims that may be raised, including the issue of standing. We will further discuss settlement options including the "Housing Affordable Modification Program" ("HAMP"), launched by the Obama Administration, as well as other mitigation options.
