Private Placement Adoption Training

PRIVATE PLACEMENT ADOPTION TRAINING

MFY's Kinship Caregiver Law Project was created to help stabilize families, promote children's security, and help prevent children from entering the foster care system. Approximately 300,000 children in New York City are currently cared for by relatives, primarily grandparents. Pro bono attorneys are needed to provide full legal representation at adoption proceedings.

The FREE training will be held:

This free training will educate and prepare attorneys on how to handle private placement adoption proceedings in family court. It is expected that participating associates will accept a case for representation. The training is geared for both transitional and non-transitional attorneys. Throughout the course of the representation, mentoring and technical support, including screening clients and reviewing drafted court papers, will be available.

*** 2 CLE credits provided in the area of Professional Practice. This course is appropriate for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys.***
