Why You Should Attend
A new Administration and a downturn in the economy have contributed to an ever-changing and challenging year in immigration. This year's program will take a comprehensive look at immigration from several perspectives. What immigration policies has President Obama initiated in his first year, and what programs has his Administration suspended? How has the Department of Labor's view of PERM been affected by the year's events? What changes will the Bureau of U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) look to implement to H-1Bs cap filings for Fiscal Year 2011? States are beginning to enforce the array of employer sanctions legislation passed in the last few years, and municipalities are accelerating efforts to "get tough" on undocumented workers. The Department of Homeland Security has suggested stepped up enforcement of employers through criminal prosecutions and workplace raids. How have the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) policies affected undocumented immigrant workers and asylum seekers this year?

PLEASE NOTE:
PLI is also offering a Live Webcast of the Program. This means that you can view this program from your office or even at home on your computer. We can also set up a Group Cast which would enable a number of attorneys from your office to view the program at once.

Full and partial scholarships to attend PLI's programs or view a webcast are available to legal aid and government attorneys, law professors, judges, judicial clerks, law students and employees of nonprofit organizations. Scholarship applications must be submitted at least four weeks prior to the program you wish to attend.
