The THS Mock Trial Association, Inc. and New York University’s Mock Trial Team are offering two terrific CLE opportunities for New York City attorneys. On October 10-12 and November 7-9 of this year, two mock trial tournaments will take place at the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York—located at 225 Cadman Plaza East in downtown Brooklyn. In order for both tournaments to be a success, we need the help of local attorneys and judges who are willing to give of their time and preside over rounds at our tournament. Mock trial is an advocacy competition in which thousands of high schools and universities compete in nationwide. More information about each tournament can be found below.

Empire City Invitational (2nd annual) – THS Mock Trial Association, Inc. – October 10-12, 2008 - The THS Mock Trial Association is a 501 [c][3] not-for-profit organization that helps raise money for the Tottenville High School Mock Trial Team and the Empire City Invitational. - The Tottenville High School Mock Trial team placed 2nd in New York State last year out of over 500 schools. - Tournament will feature 18 high schools from different parts of the country and four international schools –one from South Korea, one from Ireland, two from Australia. - The schedule is as follows: October 10 – 5:30 PM, October 11 – 10:00 AM, October 11 – 2:30 PM, October 12 – 11 AM. Downtown Invitational Classic (3rd annual) –NYU Mock Trial – November 7-9, 2008 - The NYU Mock Trial Team is a highly successful undergraduate organization that is a part of the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA). Last year, NYU placed 4th in the nation, out of over 500 universities. - Tournament will feature 18 of the top colleges and universities in the country, including Harvard University, Yale University, Princeton University and more. - The schedule is as follows: November 7 – 5:30 PM, November 8 – 10:00 AM, November 8 – 2:30 PM, November 9– 11 AM. Judges should arrive one hour in advance. - To earn 3 CLE credits for participation, fill out the online form at: http://nyumocktrial.com/judges.htm

Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be provided at both events as a token of our appreciation.
