Veterans Assistance Project: Successfully Serving Our Vets

On Monday, February 11, the City Bar Justice Center's Veterans Assistance Project held its third Veterans Clinic. About 30 veterans attended the clinic and were assisted by volunteer attorneys from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Ham- ilton LLP; Covington & Burling LLP; Howrey LLP; Mayer Brown LLP; McCarter & English, LLP; Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP; Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP; Reed Smith LLP; Shearman & Sterling LLP; and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Volunteer attorneys assisted veterans with obtaining or increasing their VA disability benefits. As with prior clinics, volunteer attorneys conducted intakes and will provide continued representation to their clients. To date, the Veterans Assistance Project has assisted approximately 80 veterans.
