From filing a petition to litigating a trial, this training will cover the nuts and bolts of advising and representing clients in child and spousal support cases in Family and Supreme Court. Modifications of existing orders in these challenging economic times will be emphasized, as well as practice tips and strategies that will help participants successfully advocate for their clients.

Topics to be covered include:
• Drafting petitions
• Filling out financial disclosure affidavits (i.e., net worth statements)
• Drafting subpoenas
• Preparing clients to testify
• Establishing evidentiary foundations
• Organizing and conducting direct examinations and cross-examinations of witnesses
