This training will teach tenants and tenant advocates how to navigate the Housing Court System. The training will provide an overview of how tenants and organizers can use housing court and will explain how to respond to a suit brought by a landlord, and how to initiate a housing suit. Reference materials will be supplied and real-world examples will be discussed. Language access barriers, immigration status concerns, and other immigrant specific issues will be addressed. Josiris UreƱa, Rent Arrears Hotline Specialist, The Citywide Task-force on Housing Court will conduct the training, which will be in Spanish.

A fee will be charged for this training.
In case of economic hardship, fee waiver or reduction may be available upon request.
