The Bronx Academy of Letters is a public college-preparatory high school in the South Bronx. Students in the 11th grade American History class participate in a Moot Court during the fall and again in the spring. Practicing attorneys act as the Justices of the US Supreme Court to hear the students' team arguments. The March 2009 session focuses on federal 4th Amendment cases (Indianapolis v Edmond on March 11, Kyllo v US on March 12, and Vernonia v Acton on March 13). There is a 10am-11am and 2pm-3pm session on each day, and attorneys are free to sign up for a single or multiple sessions of judging. This event means a lot for the students, and your help makes it possible.
- CLE Credit Comments: One (1) CLE credit hour, in the "Skills" category, may be earned for each 50 minutes of judging, except that a participating judge may earn no more than three (3) credits during any one reporting cycle. No additional credit may be earned for preparation time. The credits are "nontransitional" (for experienced attorneys only).
