Legal fellowship to train and mentor Afghan defense lawyers

The International Legal Foundation ("ILF"), a not-for-profit organization based in New York and founded for the purpose of assisting post-conflict countries set up a public defender system is opening a position for a lawyer -- minimum five years criminal law experience - to work in its Kabul office training and mentoring Afghan defense lawyers. The assignment will begin January 1, 2007 for six months. The ILF provides room and board, air fare, emergency insurance, and visa and a stipend of $3000 per month.
