A federal appeals court has reinstated part of a lawsuit brought by a woman who charged that police officers in the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson ignored her claims of domestic violence at the hands of her boyfriend.

The appeal in Okin v. Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, 06-5142-cv, was decided by Judges Chester J. Straub and Rosemary S. Pooler. Judge Sonia Sotomayor, a member of the original panel, was elevated to the U.S. Supreme Court before the appeal was decided.
