We will explore the theory and practice of therapeutic jurisprudence, particularly in the context of custody and visitation cases. The current procedures for forensic evaluations, including the issues of post-traumatic stress disorder and parental alienation, will be analyzed and recommendations made for litigation strategies as well as systematic improvements. The psychological impact of working with domestic violence victims and best practices around vicarious trauma will also be discussed.
The registration fee is $90 for one day of the conference and $145 for both days.
- CLE Credit Comments: This two-day conference is appropriate for newly admitted and experienced attorneys and is approved for a maximum of 12 transitional and non-transitional credit hours according to the following allocation: Day 1 March 5: 0.5 skills, 1 ethics and 4.5 professional practice Day 2 March 6: 2.5 skills, 1 ethics, and 2.5 professional practice Days 1 & 2 March 5 and March 6: 3 skills, 2 ethics, and 7 professional practice This CLE credit allocation is approved in accordance with the requirements of the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board.
