This program is intended only for lawyers who are already members of the foreclosure conference panel (either in Queens or Kings County) or new volunteers who agree to a pro bono service commitment to represent one homeowner in the foreclosure settlement conference process either in Queens or Kings County.

Volunteers must be attorneys admitted in good standing in New York State.

In order to register for this program, you must agree to these terms and committ to volunteering to handle such a case.

No minimum experience or bar association membership is required to take the training and volunteer for this program.

  • CLE Credit Comments: 3 CLE credits in Professional Practice (transitional credit - valid for all attorneys) awarded bu QCBA Academy of Law. CLE credits awarded upon completion of pro bono service. Seminar including materials, refreshments and parking (limited, first served basis) are FREE. This training is a part of the NYS Subprime Foreclosure Prevention Services program, developed to help New York homeowners facing default or foreclosure by providing counseling and legal services. The program is administered by the NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal/Housing Trust Fund Corporation. The program provides training and support for housing counselors, mediators and lawyers who are assisting residents with subprime or unconventional mortgages.
