In this seminar, you will learn litigation strategies to ensure access to slippery corporate assets and measures to confront retaliatory actions by the defendant employers looking to avoid liability for employment law related monetary awards. Richard Balletta from the NYS Department of Labor will train on using NYS Business Corporation Law to identify and secure employer assets. Dan Getman will share initial and mid-stream litigation strategies to address the most common tactics of defendant employers such as retaliation, coercive communications with putative class members, injunctive relief, and naming the proper parties when the defendant is linked to multiple or successor corporations. Stephen Falla-Riff will be providing an overview of corporate structure of small businesses under NYS law and the doctrines of piercing the corporate veil and reverse veil piercing. LAS Trainings are free. Class is limited to 40 participants with priority given to members of the Non-Profit Low Wage Worker Task Force.
