The Septima Poinsette Clark Law Project of Brooklyn Young Mothers' Collective (BYMC) announces the seminar, Understanding Family Court & Family Law: Child Support, Custody & Visitation.
This seminar will focus on family law and family court and will specifically address questions related to child support, visitation and custody. There will be a question and answer period and an opportunity to meet with an attorney to address specific legal questions. The event is free and open to the press and to the general public.
Septima Poinsette Clark was an educator and civil rights activist who strove to teach her students how to act collectively and protect their rights as citizens. The Clark Law Project forwards BYMC's mission by educating Brooklyn's pregnant and parenting teens through free monthly community legal education seminars on topics such as consumer law, family court proceedings, and juvenile justice. BYMC provides low-income young mothers with the vision to plan and the tools to build their future. Its mission is to promote self-sufficiency through educational attainment and improved parenting practices. Its website is www.bymcinc.org.
