Rule 6.1 Update-First Reporting Period To Begin August 1, 2005 And Run Through July 31, 2006
Recently the Supreme Court amended the Mississippi Rules of Professional Conduct to require attorneys to report annually their hours of pro bono legal services. Reporting will be part of annual bar dues statements. The Supreme Court has recently confirmed that the first reporting of pro bono hours will begin with the 2006-07 bar statements to be mailed in August of 2006. This means the first reporting period will BEGIN August 1, 2005 and end July 31, 2006. Rule 6.1 Pro Bono reporting forms will be included in Bar enrollment fee statements mailed out in August 2006.
