Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project Seeks Attorney Involvement
The Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project's (MVLP) primary goal is to provide quality pro bono legal services to individuals of low income and limited means who would not otherwise have access to the courts. MVLP receives about one thousand calls each month from people who need assistance. Private attorney involvement has become an integral part of the delivery system and therefore MVLP seeks their help on an ongoing basis. Without the assistance of private lawyers many low income Mississippians would be denied access to the legal system, including the many innocent children who suffer at the hands of abuse each year. There is deep personal satisfaction and fulfillment in working in a profession that positively impacts the lives of so many people. MVLP offers professional liability insurance, a mentor panel, annual continuing legal education seminars and reimbursement of reasonable litigation and out-of-pocket expenses, such as mileage, postage and copying costs. Please sign-up today to take a pro bono case or to send in a financial contribution to help the many people who cannot afford to pay for legal services.
