On Friday, July 20, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) and the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project (MVLP) will host a free guardianship legal clinic at the Lee County Chancery Court in Tupelo. Attorneys are needed to staff the clinic and to help promote the event to individuals seeking guardianships to enroll children in school in the 2012-2013 school year. Volunteer attorneys will receive CLE credit. Attorneys will help prepare guardianship pleadings and prospective guardians will be able to go before Lee County Chancellor Jacqueline Mask to obtain the guardianships while at the legal clinic as long as they have met all requirements. Prospective guardians should contact MVLP at 601-960-9577 to make an appointment for the clinic or to obtain more information.
