The Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project (MVLP) will offer a complimentary ethics CLE seminar for volunteers interested in helping with Legal Line and the Homeless Legal Clinic. Legal Line is a hotline service provided by MVLP to the general public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Volunteer attorneys respond to pre-screened calls with information and answers to legal questions. The Homeless Legal Clinic takes place every Tuesday at Stewpot Community Services and is staffed by attorneys from firms in the Jackson area who provide legal counsel and information to those in need. The joint Legal Line and Homeless Legal Clinic seminar will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2012, from 11:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at the law offices of Butler Snow, 1020 Highland Colony Parkway, Suite 1400 in Ridgeland. Lunch will be provided for attendees. The seminar will update past/current volunteers and offer an orientation to the programs for new/prospective volunteers who are interested in giving their time to help meet the needs of the underprivileged. Attendees will receive one hour of ethics CLE credit.
