Attorney Volunteers Needed for Legal Assistance/Disaster Call Center

Legal Assistance Hotline Operating at Louisiana Bar Center in New Orleans. Attorney Volunteers Needed!

The Louisiana Civil Justice Center operates from Louisiana State Bar Association's Bar Center in New Orleans. The Center is staffed Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and provides intake and referral services to low-income, elderly, and disaster-affected persons. The helpline number is 504-355-0970.
The Call Center needs attorney volunteers to offer free legal advice for questions on a range of civil matters. Attorneys throughout the state can participate by offering to return calls to clients who only seek advice, not direct representation.
Only non-fee-generating cases are handled through the Center. Individuals with fee-generating cases are being directed to lawyer referral services. To volunteer to provide legal advice, please contact Judith Wenger at jwenger@laciviljustice.org.
