Pro Se Simple Uncontested Divorce Forms for the 22nd Judicial District

Automated court forms for simple uncontested divorces in the 22nd Judicial District are available on the Self Help Court Forms area of www.lawhelp.org/la.

Pro se litigants draft pleadings by answering questions during an online interview. Document assembly and online interview software incorporate the litigant's answers into the forms, and the litigant may print out the forms and related information. Lawhelp.org/la provides related resources. These new forms on www.lawhelp.org/la are for use only in the 22nd Judicial District for very basic cases filed by indigent pro se litigants with no minor children.

SLLS received support to develop the new online forms from the Louisiana Bar Foundation and the North Shore Community Partnership Panel. The 22nd Judicial District forms also reflect an extension of SLLS' work under a Technology Initiative Grant (TIG). TIG funding supported SLLS' development of automated uncontested divorce forms for Orleans Parish, added to www.lawhelp.org/la in August of 2009.

LawHelp Interactive, formerly National Public Automated Documents Online, hosts the online forms and interviews. These online forms use HotDocs document assembly and A2J Author online interview software. Nonprofit legal services organizations around the country use these tools to develop online resources for a wide range of legal issues. Soon SLLS plans to add similar uncontested divorce forms for the 21st Judicial District.

Louisiana Housing and Employment Automated Forms also Available on www.lawhelp.org/la:

Other automated self help resources include sample letters for tenants trying to recover their security deposits, sample letters for tenants trying to secure repairs, and a sample letter for employees trying to recover unpaid wages.
