The Legal Services National Technology Assistance Project (NTAP: http://.lsntap.org) has an opening for a Project Coordinator for Online Training and Tech Library. This position is suitable for a person with a strong interest in making a difference in the social justice community through the effective use of technology. It is ideal for a candidate dedicated to helping -- public interest lawyers, directors, court personnel, and other legal aid staff - use technology to succeed in their efforts to deliver high quality legal services to low income people and to improve access to justice. Specifically, this person will deliver online training events geared for legal aid staff and generate and manage content on the LSNTAP.Org website related to those events.
The Legal Services National Technology Assistance Project (NTAP) is a small, nonprofit organization that fights injustice to low-income persons by helping nonprofit legal aid programs implement effective and innovative technologies. NTAP provides technology assistance, training, leadership, and outreach to more than 150 nonprofit legal aid programs across the country. About the Position
This position will coordinate the NTAP's online training program and content on LSNTAP.Org. The Training Project Coordinator will be responsible for learning about, supporting, and training on a variety of technical related topics that have demonstrated a positive impact on helping legal aid programs succeed (see http://lsntap.org/techlibrary). This position is responsible for developing the training calendar, delivering one to four webinar trainings per month, developing online content (blogs, articles, and presentations) related to training topics , coordinating presenters and/or presenting training sessions, and ultimately evaluating the training program. Lastly, this position will build a virtual community - coordinating users and advisory boards of the project to build support, gather ideas, and share best practices.
Salary & Location of Position
Salary range is $38,000 - $50,000, commensurate with experience. NTAP is a virtual office environment and therefore the physical location of the position is negotiable. Candidates will be required to demonstrate online training skills and technical knowledge.
Provide training, technical assistance and informational resources that increase the understanding legal services programs and members of the access to justice community, have about the ways to use of technology can improve services to clients.
Identify key technology areas that are relevant to legal aid delivery systems; identify training needs relative to specific audiences and develop appropriate mechanisms to deliver information appropriately.
Deliver high quality trainings to various audiences; namely legal aid leaders, attorneys, staff and techies and the broader access to justice community including Bar, IOLTA and Court personnel.
Incorporate adult learning methods into the training program including engaging the audience and reinforcing key concepts.
Develop on-line website tech library resources.Develop creative and innovative approaches to cost effective support and promotion.
Maintain, update, and create resource materials, online "how-tos", and marketing materials about using these tools.
Coordinate and host regular "Roundtable" calls in order to discuss emerging technology and promote best practices within the field.
Coordinate national advisory boards.
Participate in fundraising and coordinate sustainability planning for the project.
Present at national, regional and local conferences and events.
Conduct outreach and promote the project to diverse audiences, such as courts, other poverty law nonprofits, and national support centers.
Strategize and problem-solve barriers to long-term integration of technology within legal service programs.

Experience working with others virtually.
Very experienced in using a variety of software applications like Google Apps, online project management tools (e.g., Basecamp), instant messaging, wikis and other web-based tools.
Experience using a web-based content management system like Drupal to maintain content on a website as well as knowledge of online collaborative tools, blogs, wikis, etc.
Experience using NTAPs "Toolkit for Justice" technology and key legal aid communication and collaboration tools (LegalMeetings, Poverty Law Survey Tool, GIS Mapping, Case Management Systems, Telephone Technology, Online Project Management systems, Google Applications, Instant Messaging).
Willingness and confidence in exploring new technologies. (We expect this position to be comfortable experimenting and utilizing new technologies. Candidates should highlight a strong background in the ability to integrate various technologies in either the candidate's personal and/or professional interests.)
Project Coordinator and/or Nonprofit Experience
Basic project management skills.
Experience or interest in working with civil legal services or public interest law organizations.
Experience in marketing and promotion.
Experience in building community or responding to customer service requests.
Ability to Travel
Willingness and ability to travel periodically.
