The Immigration Law Clinic at St. Vincent Catholic Charities is happy to announce that we will be offering the webinar "Immigrants & Tax Law: An Introduction." The webinar will focus on the importance of accurate tax returns, specifically in the context of immigration, and will help practitioners identify the most common errors among lower-income individuals. We will review eligibility requirements for the different filing statuses, dependency exemptions and popular credits.
Presenter:
Your presenter will be Rebecca Lair, one of the attorneys with the Immigration Law Clinic. A Kalamazoo College graduate, Rebecca received her J.D. from New England Law|Boston in 2006, and her L.L.M. in Taxation from Northwestern University in 2007. After graduating from her L.L.M. program, she worked at a mid-sized accounting firm in Chicago, specializing in individual income taxation of expatriate taxpayers and non-resident aliens, as well as the reporting of foreign bank and investment accounts. Rebecca has studied Spanish in Spain and Human Rights Law in Ireland.
