Governor Branstad and Lt. Governor Reynolds visit Iowa Legal Aid’s table at Volunteer Awareness Day, held February 21, 2012, at the Capitol. Volunteer Awareness Day has been designed to give organizations that rely on volunteers a chance to talk with their legislators about the impact volunteers have had in Iowa and the critical services volunteers provide in the community.

Iowa Legal Aid is fortunate to have over 2,900 attorneys signed up to participate in Iowa’s three volunteer lawyers projects as well as numerous attorneys who assist on a regular basis with intake in regional offices.

Volunteers also support Iowa Legal Aid through their service on the Board of Directors, regional office Advisory Councils and other committees, as well as spend time planning and participating in events to support Iowa Legal Aid.
