DVSOS provides free and confidential referral and crisis intervention services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence. We maintain membership with the South Dakota Coaltion Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and the South Dakota Network Against Family Violence. We have been benefactors of each of the listed State Agencies during the time periods that each agency recieved the Legal Services Grant. Typically it is one or the other that is the grantee of that grant. Each provides a much needed while very underfunded program. DVSOS is a rural South Dakota program employing one full-time director and one half-time advocate. Our office has been fortunate to have a University of South Dakota Law Student Victims Advocate on staff. She has since gone on to fullfill her dream of serving victims as a legal advocate.
