Pennsylvania Governor's Office of General Counsel

The Office of General Counsel (OGC) employs over 450 lawyers, serving in 30 agenices under the Governor's jurisdiction. OGC has a Pro Bono Program that provides opportunites for OGC lawyers to take a variety of pro bono cases. One category of cases that OGC lawyers provide representation in are Protection From Abuse (PFA) cases. When an OGC lawyer wishes to take a PFA case, the lawyer will contact the local domestic violence program and offer their services to a client. OGC has also particpated with the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) and the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) in the training of over 100 government lawyers on how to represent a client in a PFA case.
