POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Capital Habeas Investigator
The Federal Public Defender, Capital Habeas Unit is accepting applications for the position of
Investigator. The Unit represents death-sentenced prisoners in federal habeas corpus litigation
proceedings throughout Nevada. This is a full-time position located in Las Vegas, and is
dependent upon fiscal year funding.
Applicants must possess a demonstrated commitment to poverty law or indigent criminal
defense, and experience in criminal law and/or death penalty investigations. Death penalty
habeas experience, including mitigation investigation, preferred. 3 - 5 years of criminal
investigation experience desirable. The position requires extensive travel.
