DEATH PENALTY REPRESENTATION PROJECT
PROJECT ASSISTANT
The American Bar Association Washington Office is seeking a Project Assistant for its Death Penalty Representation Project. This full time position (37.5 hours/week-#E2-P1158) manages the Project Sponsorship and Scholarship program; and also multiple aspects of annual budget and numerous financial aspects of the Project. The Project Assistant collects, assembles and coordinates large mailings; manages and updates Project database; coordinates multiple steering meeting and technical training presentations. Is responsible for coordinating all travel and related details for Director and Staff Attorney; and creates materials and manages all logistics related to 10+ large recruitment meetings per year all around the country; and administers other details relating to the Death Penalty Representation Project.
A college degree is strongly preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills are a must. Computer literacy essential with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; experience with web design programs and data base programs is helpful. The Project Assistant must have a mature and professional attitude and a willingness to juggle multiple tasks and assignments under sometimes demanding and unexpected deadlines. The position requires some work outside of "normal working hours" when circumstances dictate and the ability to work independently is a must. Also required, along with an understanding of death penalty issues, is a demonstrated ability and interest to quickly learn new subject matter.
Salary level for full-time is mid-thirties.
