Wednesday May 22 , 2013

Join the Washington Council of Lawyers for our fourth Best Practices in Pro Bono: Building Effective Pro Bono Relationships conversation on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Fried, Frank Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, 801 - 17th Street NW. We will gather at 8:30 am for a continental breakfast, and the facilitated conversation will take place from 9:00 - 10:00 am. You do not need to have been present for the previous conversations to participate in this session.

Our May 22 conversation is entitled "Collaborating for Impact" and will feature facilitators Bert Ritvo, Pro Bono Counsel at DLA Piper US LLP, and Evelyn Becker, formerly with the Children's Law Center. Our focus will be on how to develop and maintain positive relationships between firms, in-house counsel, and service providers in order to maximize the effectiveness of our pro bono and professional development opportunities. Topics will include:

• Training opportunities and skill building;
• Mentoring strategies;
• Setting attorney/client expectations;
• Motivating good work;
• Understanding our clients;
• Maintaining appropriate staffing;
• Firm/provider relationships;
• Recognition and awards.

There is no cost to attend. Please feel free to invite others to join the conversation!
