The Washington Council of Lawyers is pleased to host two hour brown bag litigation skills training session focused on the issue of moving documents into evidence. Through lecture and demonstration, we will review the rules of evidence, exceptions to the hearsay rule, and foundational requirements for different categories of documents. Then, you will be on your feet to put those ideas into practice through small group breakout sessions guided by experienced litigators.
Our lecturers will be:
•The Honorable Todd Edelman, DC Superior Court
•Mary Kennedy, Arnold & Porter LLP
•Andrew Wise, Miller & Chevalier, Chartered
Materials for the training will be sent via email about one week prior to the training.
In addition to working with the documents contained in the course materials, we invite you to submit ahead of time a non-confidential exhibit from one of your cases that you would like to use during the training. Scan and email the exhibit to Nancy Lopez at email@example.com by February 19, and bring three copies of the exhibit with you to the training on February 21.
The Mini Litigation Skills program is open to WCL Members only. To become a member of WCL, please click here or visit www.wclawyers.org.
The cost of the training is $25. Scholarships are available.
