This session will follow up on some of the issues raised at the Family Court Conference on LGBTQ youth earlier this month.

Ellen James is an attorney specializing in family law. She is the Central Regional Director for PFLAG National (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays). She also serves on the PFLAG National Board.

This presentation will discuss what we know (and don't know) about gender differences. You will be provided with a working culturally competent language about gender identity and sexual orientation. The presenter will also share best practices for representing LGBT youth and adults and will share her family's journey with their 12 year old transgender child.
