Women law students are poised to enter a field roiled by an economic downturn which has further complicated attempts to remove the structural barriers to the advancement and retention of women. While the challenges are many, the professional opportunities and rewards that a career in the law can provide to women are still great. This program is designed to provide women
with the practical information they need to navigate the latest challenges as well as the persistent obstacles.
Program attendees will learn about:
- Finding and Financing a Job in Public Interest Law
- Overlooked Opportunities in Government and Public Policy
- Post-Recession Hiring and Workplace Changes in Law Departments and Law Firms
- Persistent and Emerging Challenges to the Advancement and Retention of Women/Women of Color
The 90-minute panel discussion will be followed by a networking reception.
