Pro Bono Week 2009 "Know Your Rights" Consumer Credit Information Sessions

Friday October 23 - Wednesday November 04 , 2009

We seek volunteer lawyers to conduct public information sessions on good credit practices, in Washington, D.C, during Pro Bono Week 2009. Law students are welcome to volunteer to assist lawyers conducting the sessions. The sessions will offer basic legal and practical information on consumer credit and borrowing. A background or legal experience in consumer credit is not needed to volunteer. Legal advice about individual situations will not be provided at the sessions.

1. How it works: Organizations and groups request an information session at a place and time convenient for the organization or group. The demographics of the groups will vary from students in high school to senior citizens.

2. What you need to do: Register to present one of the sessions. At the time of your registration you will be prompted to choose one of three short consumer practices training sessions that will be offered. (CLE credit is not available for this training.)

Each session is expected to last about one hour and will be led by two volunteer lawyers. The sessions will be very structured, and you will be provided with all of the information you need during your training. To review the list of sessions that have been requested and register for training please visit http://client.hhlaw.com/probonoweek/
