D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center Seeks Part-Time Senior Project Specialist

The D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center has an immediate opening for a one-year part-time Senior Project Specialist position in our office. The Senior Project Specialist is a lawyer who plans and implements the Pro Bono Center’s technology based initiatives, administers the Pro Bono Center’s online tools for pro bono advocates and pro se litigants and maintains the Pro Bono Center’s internal production program.

The Public Benefits Practice Area provides resources for attorneys and other professionals assisting residents of the District of Columbia metropolitan area with their public benefits issues.


The Public Benefits Practice Area is hosted by the following legal services providers:

AARP Legal Counsel for the Elderly (LCE)
LCE provides free legal services and advocacy for older residents of the District of Columbia.

Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless (WLCH)
WLCH provides free representation and advocacy for residents of the District of Columbia who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Whitman-Walker Clinic Legal Services Program (WWC-LSP)
WWC-LSP provides free legal services to people living with HIV/AIDS in the District of Columbia metropolitan area.

What's On This Site?

The Library contains descriptions of the following public benefit programs:

  • Social Security Disability and Retirement Benefits

  • Medicaid

  • Medicare

  • Food Stamps

  • Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF/Welfare)

The Library also provides materials to assist with case preparation, including the following:

  • Sample Forms

  • Letter Briefs and Pleadings; and

  • Other Support Materials for Preparing a Case

News contains articles affecting poor people in D.C., recent information from area legal providers about law reform efforts and interesting cases.
