In response to the growing need for civil legal assistance, Louisiana's pro bono programs decided to conduct a "Statewide Day of Service". The current economic situation creates more need for services. And this project provides an additional opportunity for those in need to access the advice of an attorney. The pro bono programs felt a coordinated, unified effort was the most effective way to provide additional services while emphasizing the importance of pro bono and the need for volunteers throughout the state.
