University Legal Services, the D.C. Protection and Advocacy program for individuals with disabilities provides volunteer attorneys with an opportunity to advocate for mental health consumers at St. Elizabeths Hospital. ULS will train attorneys to represent consumers through advocacy and in administrative grievance hearings. This is a great opportunity for attorneys to provide direct pro bono legal services to isolated individuals whose rights may be violated in this institutional setting. No particular expertise is required. Lunch is provided after the training session.
