This training will provide an overview of the New York State Unemployment Insurance program, including New York eligibility criteria, Unemployment Insurance hearing tips, informal and formal advocacy approaches, and an introduction to New York State Unemployment Insurance law. The training will emphasize topics of special importance to low-wage workers, including eligibility for individuals with limited work histories, off-the -books employment, job training opportunities and work limitations stemming from family obligations and /or disability or health restrictions.
