The Pro Se-Plus Divorce Clinic provides free information and assistance to persons seeking divorce in the District of Columbia. The clinic takes place once a month. Each clinic is conducted in two separate sessions.

Session one is a class that covers the legal requirements for filing for divorce in D.C., how to tell if a divorce is uncontested, legal issues that are addressed in divorce (such as legal and physical child custody, visitation, child support, property, debt, alimony), how to fill out and file the necessary forms, and procedural issues (such as service of process and time for answering). Also discussed are more complexed service issues, default proceeding and a mock hearing is presented.

Session two is a workshop which takes place one week later provides participants an opportunity to have their form pleadings reviewed. Participants should attend a class session, and then any follow-up session.
