The Bankruptcy Court in Woodland Hills is home to LA County's first court-based self-help clinic for pro se litigants who are seeking information and assistance with their bankruptcies. Neighborhood Legal Services of LA County, in coordination with the U.S. District Court and the CDCBAA, provides assistance with petitions and other forms on Mondays and Thursdays. Volunteer attorneys, law students and paralegals are needed to staff the clinic and provide monthly seminars on bankuptcy law, hearing and filing procedures, reaffirmations and foreclosure prevention. Volunteer schedules are flexible. Bankruptcy experience is preferred but not necessary. Volunteer training can be arranged.
