Introduction to Veterans Benefits
Presenter: Nicole Perez, Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles
It is estimated that one-third of Americans are eligible for some kind of veterans benefit! In one short hour, we will develop a basic understanding of the veterans benefits system, focusing on the two major income-based benefit programs for disabled veterans and their families. We will also briefly review the Department of Veterans Affairs adjudication process and discuss practical tools for effective advocacy on behalf of VA claimants.
