NLADA 2009 Annual Conference: Contribute Session Proposals

Thursday, May 28, 2009

What is the NLADA Annual Conference?

NLADA's Annual Conference is the leading national training event of the year for the civil legal aid, indigent defense and public interest law communities. This national gathering offers advocates the latest knowledge and professional skills to enable them to creatively and effectively meet the legal needs of low-income people.

The conference also provides equal justice advocates with opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with colleagues from across the country and to fulfill continuing legal education requirements.

How to Submit Civil, Client, Board and General Session Proposal Information?

For detailed information and instructions and to submit your session proposal electronically, please visit: www.mynlada.org/2009annualconference. Click the link "Create a new account" in order to make a login and password. Once you have logged in to the site, review the Session Proposal Submission Guidelines, then proceed to submit your session proposal.

After reading the guidelines, if you have any questions please refer first to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) tab. For further inquiries about the session proposal process, please contact training@nlada.org or (202) 452-0620 x207.

How to Submit Defender Session Proposal Information?

For the 2009 Annual Conference, NLADA will use a new simplified process to determine the topics and presenters for the Defender sessions during the Annual Conference. NLADA  will not be soliciting proposals for defender sessions.

Instead, NLADA staff has identified a list of potential topics, which can be found at:  http://www.nlada.org/Training/Training/Train_Annual/Train_Annual_Defender. We invite you to provide feedback on these topics, recommend presenters, and offer suggestions for additional topics. Please share your thoughts and suggestions concerning potential topics and speakers, including whether you have an interest in being a presenter, via e-mail to Karl Doss at defendertrainer@nlada.org.

The deadline for proposal submission is June 22, 2009.
