Practising Law Institute (PLI) Offers Scholarships for Attorneys in Transition and Unemployed Attorneys

Thursday, March 05, 2009

Not-for-profit Practising Law Institute is offering scholarships to attorneys in transition during these difficult times. PLI has provided scholarships to attorneys in need since it was founded in 1933 during the midst of the Great Depression and awarded more than 5,000 scholarships to its programs last year.

PLI's President Victor Rubino said, "Whether attorneys wish to acquaint themselves with a new area of the law or need to earn CLE credits to remain compliant, PLI is anxious to help. We are aware of the increased need and have made the application process very simple: Visit the PLI website at www.pli.edu and go to the Pro Bono/Scholarship tab to apply."

PLI's also continues to offer scholarships to many others. Judges, judicial law clerks, professors, law students, attorneys 65 or older, law librarians, attorneys who work for non-profit organizations or government agencies and attorneys in private practice who seek to learn skills that will assist them in pro bono activities are all eligible.
