Behind most evictions, debt collections, or dissolutions, for example, lurk important benefits issues. Public Benefits Overview presents the key eligibility requirements of major public benefit programs for low income people by using a unique identifying issue tool. It focuses on:
• CalWORKs
• Food Stamps
• General Assistance/Relief
• Medi-Cal
• Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and
• Emergency Benefits for people in crisis.
