UNHCR RefWorld International Instruments Database now on web

Sunday, November 16, 2003

  • Organization: UNHCR

One of Refworld's databases has been launched on the UNHCR website. It concerns "RefInt", UNHCR's database with international instruments. The International Instruments database provides an overview of the most important United Nations and regional instruments for the protection of refugees, asylum seekers, stateless persons, displaced persons and migrants, as well as human rights. All the instruments that were compiled in the 1995 "Collection of International Instruments and Other Legal Texts Concerning Refugees and Displaced Persons" are included, plus others that have been adopted since. All documents are available in English in full text, with the core instruments also containing a list of States Parties, and an overview of reservations and declarations.

You may access the database in full, by going to Refworld's "Legal information" page on the UNHCR website: http://www.unhcr.ch/research/legal.htm, and then select a source from the pull-down menus for either universal or regional instruments.

Please note that this database is also available on Refworld on CD-Rom, the Autumn update of which will be distributed shortly. See http://www.unhcr.ch/refworld/ for more information regarding Refworld on CD-Rom.
